We aren't selling blanks: mugs, phone cases or blankets. Shoppers are buying illustrations they can customise that will remain a cherished keepsake for them and loved ones. For that, increasing the variety they can see will hopefully increase the chances of a potential customer finding connection with a particular design.

We upgraded the banners and thumbnails, featuring the designs more prominently. Seeing real people in pictures also appeals more to the average shopper's psychology.

The abandonment rate post navigating to homepage was reduced by 30%. When we ran A/B tests on a segment of visitors to see the clickthrough rate, we saw that people on the new design clicked were 200% more likely to click on banners and check out categories.

And even though I've left the company for a while now, every now and again I'll log into the site and see that they're still running the core layout that I made for the homepage 😊, albeit with adjustments (now in the big 2026, you've gotta have a TikTok clips section!)
