The Discussion
The Results
The feature that caused us headache-inducing discussions for days in the workshops and meetings, yet pulled off rewarding results
Introducing the feature
Providing add-ons for the holiday
Making the experience of receiving presents more special, one checkbox at a time.

Previously, Gossby packages arrived in plain packaging - an oversight for a brand that focuses on providing heartfelt experiences. Although economical, there were missed opportunities to add delight for customers. With new add-ons for the holidays, not only do regular shoppers have more options to delight their loved ones, but influencers who partner with Gossby also have more to work with.

The backend conundrum
The product team was debating back and forth and changing the conditions of how the add-ons should be set up and organised in the backend system. This was because the backend system contained a complex structure of product variants and versions.
The ever-changing design
The backend design was updated every 1-2 days because there were always new situations and edge cases to consider for the internal team who used the tools.
The Learnings
Behind a relatively plain frontend design lies a complicated backend structure and many conversations around internal logic to achieve that very simplicity.
